NEWTOWN, Pa. – Gerardo Sanchez and Valeria Sanchez of the Albright men's and women's tennis team were named MAC Commonwealth tennis players of the week. Albright begun their spring season this past Saturday beating Penn State Abington 8-1 on the men's side and recording a 9-0 victory on the women's side.

Gerardo Sanchez went a perfect 2-0 in his two matches played against Penn State Abington in the Lion's 8-1 win. Sanchez started his day with an 8-2 win in #3 singles play and rounded out the day with and 8-1 victory in #2 doubles play.

Valeria Sanchez went 2-0 this past weekend in Albright's 9-0 sweep over Penn State Abington. In the Lions first match of the 2024 spring season, Sanchez won 8-0 in #3 singles play then followed up that performance with an 8-2 win in #2 doubles play.

The Lions men's and women's tennis teams will look to keep the strong play rolling heading into a matchup against Dickinson on Thursday, March 7.
