MEDIA, Pa. – The Albright men's tennis team (10-7, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth) cruised by Penn State Brandywine (4-8) today winning the match 8-0. The bigger story of the day came when Stevenson beat Eastern to give the Lions the fourth and final spot in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs.

Today's win did not affect the MAC Commonwealth standings but the Lions got good news after the match. With Stevenson's win today over Eastern, Albright locked up the final spot in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs. Albright will play Messiah at Messiah in the first round of playoffs.
Albright will travel to Messiah on Wednesday, May 1 for a matchup with top seeded Messiah. The Lions make the return trip to the postseason for the first time in 18 years. Albright last qualified for the MAC Championships as the two seed during the 2006 season.
Albright picked up multiple wins this season to put themselves in the playoffs. Albright's three MAC Commonwealth victories came over Hood, Eastern and Alvernia. The win over Alvernia was the first for Albright in at least the last 14 years.
Today's win gave the Lions their 10
th win of the season, the most wins in a season since the 2014-2015 season.

John McCarthy all won their singles matches in straight sets. Good won 6-0, 6-0 while McCarthy won 6-0, 6-1 and Lewandowski won 6-0, 6-2. The remaining two doubles matches went to Albright as Penn State Brandywine forfeited the #5 and #6 singles matches.
In doubles play, Albright's
Gerardo Sanchez and
Dylan Huha won 8-3 while
Kobe Serpa and Good blanked their opponent winning 8-0.

The Lions will make the trip to Messiah University for the first round of the MAC Commonwealth playoffs. The match will be played on Wednesday, May 1 with a time to be determined.
