READING, Pa. – Volleyball (5-2, 0-0) hosted Saint Elizabeth (3-3, 0-0) for their first home game in 10 days. The Lions would go on to handle business with the visiting Eagles winning the match via a 3-0 sweep.
After a close 30-28 first set, the Lions would win sets two and three more comfortably by scores of 25-15 and 25-20.
The Lions went on two separate 5-0 runs including one to close out the second set as part of their 25-15 win.
Neve Straff led both sides in kills with 11 while also picking up seven digs in the process.
Sophie Hampton tied for second on the time in kills with five of her own.
Rachel Etim, fresh off of recording her 100
th block, recorded three more tonight to go along with five kills.
Paola Mejias recorded 25 assists on the night. This is the fourth match where the senior has recorded at least 25 assists. Through seven matches, Mejias is already approaching the 200 assists mark on the season (194).
