Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match; Wins fifth Straight

Albright volleyball continues to roll along sweeping today’s tri-match to run their win streak to five matches. Albright won both matches today by 3-0 score lines.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Albright volleyball (9-2) has run their win streak to five matches in row by sweeping today's tri-match over Delaware Valley and Lycoming. The Lions won both matches by the same score line of 3-0.

Albright has run their win streak to five games, the longest such streak this season. The 2024 team matched the 2023 teams start to the season going 9-2 in the first 11 games of the season.

With today's tri-match sweep, the Lions are 3-1 overall in tri-matches this season.

Match 1 vs Delaware Valley: W, 25-17, 25-21, 25-17

The first match of the day came against the host Aggies of Delaware Valley. The Lions win is the 9th over Del Val in their last 11 matches.

Neve Straff led with a team high six kills while Sophie Hampton and Elon Ruley-Donadelle chipped in with five kills.

Lindsey Korn notched another 20-dig game going for 20 digs exactly. The 20-dig effort gives Korn three straight games of recording at least 20 digs. Korn also added a game high four aces.

Paola Mejias tallied 22 assists in another strong game for the Albright senior. Mejias filled up the stat sheet recording nine digs, four block assists and two aces.

Elle Haddon did a little bit of everything tallying four block assists, four kills and a dig.
 
Match 2 vs Lycoming: W, 25-21, 25-13, 25-15

The Lions picked up their fifth straight win of the season in the second match of the day. The 3-0 sweep is the fifth time this season Albright has won in straight sets.
Straff turned in another strong game recording a double-double. Straff recorded 10 kills and 10 digs.  

Hampton led the team in digs in the second match going for 17. Korn added 15 digs rounding out the Lions in double figures with digs in the match.

Rachel Etim turned in a strong effort having seven kills, four aces and five block assists

Albright had 11 aces in the match to help the team to the straight sets win.

Albright will go for their 10th win of the season on the road at Penn State Brandywine. The match will start at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23.
