MEDIA, Pa. – The Albright women's volleyball team (10-2) won their 10
th match of the season tonight by sweeping Penn State Brandywine (2-8) 3-0 on the road. The Lions win is the sixth in a row.
Albright is off to a tremendous start to begin the 2024 season winning their 10
th match in just 12 games played. The 10 wins ties Albright with Widener for the most wins in the MAC Commonwealth this season. Albright now has three straight seasons recording at least 10 wins.
Prior to tonight's match,
Lindsey Korn was named MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the week. Last week, Albright went 4-0 while Korn registered three such games with at least 20 digs finishing with a four-match average of 21.25 digs. The Player of the Week honor is the first of Korn's career.
Neve Straff notched 10 service aces in tonight's match marking a new career high. The 10 aces is just one ace shy of the tying the Albright program record of 11. Straff tallied nine kills and four digs in the three-set sweep.
Sophie Hampton and
Rachel Etim each had six kills. Hampton added seven digs and three aces while Etim added three digs and two aces.
Korn led with 15 digs and had two assists.
Elle Haddon had two kills and two block assists.
As a team Albright finished with 18 service aces and saw eight players record at least one kill.

Albright will return home for their first MAC Commonwealth matchup of the season on Wednesday, September 25. The match against Stevenson will start at 7:00 p.m.
