READING, Pa. – Men's Soccer (5-1-3) jumped back in the win column in the form of a 1-0 victory over DeSales (3-6-1). After the visiting Bulldogs controlled much of the first half, the Lions broke through with the game's only goal to secure the win via a shutout.
Both teams were limited offensively in the first half with neither team managing to find the back of the net.
Martin Ramsay led all starters in shots with a pair in 71 minutes of play. Also contributing on offense was
Thayne Kahl who played a full 90 minutes and made a number of key plays on both the offensive and defensive end.
Following a 0-0 end to the first half,
Brady Devito scored his second goal in as many games via a header off a beautiful setup pass from
Anthony Carabasi. Devito led all Lions in shots with four in 52 minutes off the bench.
The remaining 38 minutes consisted of clutch defensive plays from the Lions, including a number of breakups from
Myles Mitchell and
Will Garnett.
Mike Lawry started in goal and made five saves in a full 90 minutes of work in what turned out to be the team's third shutout win of the season and fourth game overall allowing zero goals.
