READING, Pa. – Field Hockey (3-7) hosted King's (1-10) for the second of four straight home games. As a team the Lions put up 20 shots and only allowed two from King's in what turned out to be a dominant 5-0 win.
Head coach Co on today's big win. "Today was a great team win and a big step forward in building our confidence. It was awesome to see so many different players step up: whether it was scoring, making big stops, or creating chances that led to goals, everyone contributed to today's win!"
Rebecca Geiger got things going early for the Lions scoring the first of her two goals in the second minute of play. Geiger accounted for the first two Lion goals and finished with five total shots.
After a scoreless second,
Lillian Tuffy would score the first of three second half goals for the Lions 89 seconds into the start of the third period. McKenna Cox set up Tuffy for what would go on to be her first of the season.
First-Year
Bobbie Van Oordt continues to stay red hot and put together her first multi-goal game of the season. Van Oordt's first goal came unassisted following a number of great moves with her second goal coming off an assist from
Keliah Santiago.
Mackenzie Bunn started in goal and continues to hold down the fort for the Lions in the form of her second collegiate shutout.
