READING, Pa. - With Football inching closer to their 2025 kickoff, the team's coaching staff has been finalized. The team will be welcoming back majority of their assistants from last year as well as a few new staff members as the Lions look for a breakthrough year.
Among the new faces joining the coaching staff is Head Coach
Shaun Weaver who returns to Albright after spending the previous year as the defensive line coach at Frostburg State. Weaver's first stint with Albright began in 2020 and was with the team for four seasons.
Danny Collins is set to begin his second year with Albright following a promotion to offensive coordinator while still retaining his title of quarterbacks coach. Collins was a key component in facilitating the team's passing attack which ranked fifth in the conference in yards per game.
Joining Collins on the offensive staff will be
Kamar Jorden who was named wide receivers coach in the offseason. Coach Jorden brings experience from the high school level as well as playing Division I football for Bowling Green and nine years in the Canadian Football League.
2024 Team Captain
Antonio Bargiel will be also joining the offensive staff after being named running backs coach this past offseason. Bargiel previously spent four years a fullback for the Lions.
The defense will be led by
Mark Fetterman for the second straight year. Under Fetterman's watch the Lions defense allowed the second fewest passing touchdowns (11) and trailed only Delaware Valley (10). The team's 2024 pass defensive efficiency rating of 148.7 ranked first in the conference.
A new face on Fetterman's defense will be
Greg Miller. Coach Miller joins Albright as the team's defensive backs coach following a stint as the head football coach at Pine Ridge high school and brings over twenty years of experience to the table.
Jeff Knarr returns as the team's Director of Player Personnel along with
Michael Cruz Jr. returning as the team's Director of Football Operations.
Additional returners include:
Joseph Detorie IV (offensive line),
Antwan Rogers Jr. (cornerbacks) and
John Leighty (tight ends, H-backs, asst. special teams).
