Volleyball Returns Home against Arcadia

The Lions lost a heartbreaker in what turned out to be their first five set match of the season.

READING, Pa. –Albright Volleyball (2-4) played the first of three straight home matches against the Knights of Arcadia (5-4). In a back-and-forth match that went the distance, the visiting Knights would catch fire in the fifth set to sneak away with a victory over the Lions. 
 
After falling behind 4-1 in the first set, the Lions would counter with a 5-1 run of their own in what turned out to be a back and forth opening to the match. One last 4-1 stretch from the Lions allowed them to take the opening set 25-23. 
 
Neve Straff led the Lions with 16.5 points to go along with 14 kills and a pair of service aces. This marks the third time in four matches the junior has accounted for 16 or more points.
 
After the Knights evened up the match by taking set two, The Lions took the third set by a score of 25-20 which included a match best 8-1 run to close it out. 
 
Rachel Etim finished second behind Straff in points (10.5) while picking up a team high three blocked shots in a strong defensive performance. 
 
Paige Lipp picked up a career best 37 assists to go along with 15 digs. Lipp's season assist total surpassed 100 (132) following tonight's match. 
 
After the third set, the Knights would find enough momentum to take sets four and five by scores of 25-19 and 15-13.
