READING, Pa. – Albright Football will be at home for the second time in as many weeks to face Widener in their third conference game of the season. Both teams will be looking for their first conference win of 2025. Saturday's game marks the 74th Pretzel Bowl.

74th RAJAH SHRINE PRETZEL BOWL
The Lions will continue one of the best traditions in Division III football and dedicate a game to the Rajah Shriners. For more than 75 years the Rajah Shriners have worked to treat children dealing with health issues ranging from orthopedic problems, burns and spinal cord injuries. Following the game's conclusion, both teams will have a Pretzel Bowl MVP announced.
ABOUT ALBRIGHT
The Lions are coming off a heartbreaking 35-28 loss at the hands of Delaware Valley which featured the team's best offensive output of the season.
Chase Roberts has taken a step forward in his second year with Albright and leads the MAC in completions (69) and passing yards (891) by a wide margin while ranking second in both completion percentage (66.3) and touchdown passes (6).
Also experiencing a breakout season is second year wide receiver
Arthur Poindexter who has put up dominant stats in each of the team's first three games. Poindexter currently leads all MAC receivers in receptions (26) receiving yards (341) and touchdowns (4).
Alden Stickler also ranks third in the MAC with 268 yards of his own and has formed arguably the best receiving duo in the conference with Poindexter.
As a team the Lions defense has developed a nose for the football and has forced five turnovers in the first three games of the season.
Evan Bryfogle has made an immediate impact in the secondary and recorded his first interception last week.
ABOUT WIDENER
Saturday's contest will mark the second road conference game of the season for the Pride who are coming off a 21-7 loss at the hands of Misericordia. The Lions will look to break a six-game losing streak against the visiting Pride.
The Pride's offense enters this week as a balanced group averaging near identical amounts of run and pass attempts per game. Sophomore Dalton Wickel has been one of the most reliable offensive weapons for the for the Pride and has only had one of thirty-seven carries go for negative yards. Quarterback Eli Warfel has also proven to be a dual threat and leads the team with a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Widener's defense starts with sophomore Linebacker Luke Shimko. Shimko leads the Pride with 23 tackles and can be expected to be involved with most plays in some form. Michael Miller has set the tone for the team's defensive line with a pair of sacks and a team best 5.5 tackles for a loss.
