CARLISLE, Pa. – Men's golf began their season on Sunday afternoon competing in the Dickinson Invitational. The field features many top teams in the region as both Albright teams finished in the middle of the leaderboard after day one. The Lions "A" team shot a 303 and the "B" team shot a 306 to end day one 11
th and 12
th out of 21 total teams.
FULL DAY ONE RESULTS
A total of 10 Lions teed it up this afternoon.
Jason DiRita,
Fredrik Alhanko,
Filip Hjerten and
Ashton McKechan are all making their Albright debuts over the course of the 36 holes being played.
Five total Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth member institutions were featured in the field, York with one team followed by Albright and Alvernia who each sent two teams. York leads by 10 strokes over Albright while both Albright teams bested both Alvernia teams in the field by six or more strokes on day one.
Charles Bailey and Hjerten each shot a 74 to pace the Lions. The score is good for just two over par and t32 on the leaderboard.
J. DiRita and Mckechan were both strong in their first collegiate rounds shooting a 75. The duo find themselves t39 heading into day two tomorrow.
Veterans of the team
Sam Elsen and
Federico Cobos Kallman followed the first-year duo with rounds of 76.
Jonatan Liljeblad also ended his day in the 70's with a round of 78.
Alhanko (80),
Nontaphat Veeratecha (81) and
Connor Fields (86) rounded out the day for the Lions helping the team to strong teams scores.
