Men’s Golf Takes Third at MAC Championships; Jonatan Liljeblad Earns All-Conference Honors

Today’s second round was played under cloudy skies and steady rainfall. The Lions battled all afternoon long to finish in third with a two-day team score of 610.

FLEETWOOD, Pa. – Men's golf took third overall at the 2025 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Championships. The championships were played over the last two days at Golden Oaks Golf Club. Albright's two-day team score came in at 610. Jonatan Liljeblad tied for seventh to earn a spot on the All-MAC Second Team.

RESULTS

Albright finished third overall in the conference championships. York won with a two-day team total of 583 and Stevenson finished second with a two-day team total of 601. Alvernia finished fourth, Hood in fifth and Eastern in sixth rounding out the teams in competition this past weekend.

The 2024-25 men's golf season was one to remember for the Lions. Over the course of the season Albright won two tournaments and finished third or better in seven additional tournaments.

In the opening round of the Farmingdale Invitational which was played at historic Bethpage Golf Red Golf Course, Albright set a new program record for a single team round shooting a 291. The following day the Lions shot a 292 as team to set their new two-day score program record of 583.

Albright won both head-to-head matches played this year beginning this past fall. In the fall, Albright beat Alvernia 7-2 for the second straight year to win the Yocum Cup. In the Spring, the Lions beat Penn State Berks in the Lions Cup 8-4 for the third straight season.

Liljeblad earned his first career All-Conference nod today finishing in a tie for seventh. Liljeblad earned a spot on the team with a two-day score of 148. The score was just one stroke off earning a spot on the All-MAC First Team. Liljeblad was two strokes better today than yesterday. On the back nine, Lileblad found three birdies closing his round and season in style.

Sam Elsen and Charles Bailey each shot the same score today after shooting the same score yesterday. The duo recorded a 78 this afternoon for a two day total of 153. Elsen and Baliey combined for four birdies throughout their rounds today.

Evan Twyman was consistent throughout both rounds shooting a 78 on both days. Twyman had three total birdies today. Holes 7-18 was played at even par today for Twyman to post T17 on the leaderboard.

Ben Egin, much like his Albright teammates, recorded the same score in back to back days of competition. Egin's best stretch today came on holes 8-14 playing them at even par to come in with a round of 79.
