FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Men's golf recorded their lowest round of the spring season thus far shooting a 298 as a team on the second and final day of the Farmingdale State Tournament. The strong round today advanced the Lions three spots on the leader board playing in some tough conditions throughout the round.
RESULTS
The Lions played the red course at Bethpage State Park over the last two days. The field for the tournament is among the best you will find, having well over half the field ranked inside the top 100 nationally.
Today was not ideal conditions for golf but it was ideal enough for the Lions. The weather did not slow down the team as they proceeded to shoot their best team score of the spring season today after setting the previous low round of the spring season yesterday. Albright was just one of three teams in the 16-team field to improve from day one to day two.
Albright finished in 13
th moving up three spots today from yesterday. Babson won the team title and was followed by Amherst in second and Bowdoin in third.
August Fredrik Alhanko had a day to remember vaulting 25 spots up the individual leader board. An exceptional two under front nine got the day started for the Sweeden native. 71 was the final score for Alhanko who finished in T24 out of 96 total golfers in the field.
Nontaphat Veeratecha recorded one of three eagles in the second round on hole 15. The eagle on the back nine combined with a birdie on the front nine saw Veeratecha fire a round of 74. The strong two-day performance allowed Veeratecha to finish well better than half the field finishing in T37.
Ashton McKechan finished a stoke better today than he did yesterday. Three birdies led McKechan to a round of 76. On the par four 18
th hole, McKechan recorded just one of three total birdies on the hole throughout the entire second round.
Jonatan Liljeblad was consistent this weekend shooting a round of 77 today. A strong front nine propelled the junior to another solid showing.
Sam Elsen wrapped up the second day shooting back-to-back rounds of 77.
For the second straight day Albright saw all five of their golfers finish with rounds in the 70's. The two-day team score of 598 is tied for the third best two-day team score of the 2025-2026 season.
