READING, Pa. – Volleyball (1-3) played at home for the first time this season against Drew (1-5). The Lions seized momentum early and never looked back in what turned out to be a 3-0 sweep marking the first win in the Amanda Ashberry era.
Neve Straff led the way with 13.5 points including 10 kills and three service aces. Straff tied her season high in points and has accounted for double digit points in all but one of the team's matches this season.
Joining Straff in double digits was
Lily Donovan who's 11 points was good for her second match with double digit points this season. Donovan finished with nine kills along with a pair of service aces and five digs.
Albright saved their most dominant set for last which included a 7-1 run to catapult them back into the driver seat by a score of 11-9. Several Lions picked up multiple service aces during this run including
Brooke Moffa who tied for the team lead with three and was one of four players with multiple aces tonight.
As a team, the Lions combined for 10 assisted blocks with
Paige Lipp registering a team high of four along with
Alexis Akwara and
Laura Ordakowski joining the senior with multiple block assists of their own.
Clutch performances on both sides of the net throughout each of the three sets would ultimately allow the Lions to secure their first win of the season in convincing fashion.
