READING, Pa. - It was another close match for the Albright Men's Soccer (6-8-2/1-3 Commonwealth) team as they faced off against Commonwealth Conference newcomer and cross-town rival Alvernia University (4-10/1-4 Commonwealth) Wednesday evening at Schlager Memorial Stadium. With a #
Mark Yost# goal in the 58th minute of the match, the red and white were able to take the conference win from the host Crusaders.
Yost's goal, which was the third of the season for the sophomore was unassisted and was scored on a free kick opportunity from about 30 yards out. Overall, Yost led the contest with three shots, and helped the Lions to a 14-8 shot advantage over their conference rival. Also producing for the red and white in their offensive third was #

Billy Howard# tallied just two saves in the match to earn his first conference shutout of his career. For the Crusaders Drew Gilbert played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded five saves in the match.
Despite trailing Albright in the shots column, Alvernia did lead the match in corner kicks with 12 as compared to Albright's five.
Wednesday's match was also a physical one as the two teams combined for 19 fouls respectively. Each team hungry for a conference win did everything in their power to down their opposition. However, with Yost's help, Albright would walk away with the much needed conference victory.
Men's Soccer returns to action this Saturday when they travel to Lycoming College for a 2 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
