WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - In the hunt for their second conference win of the season, the Lions (6-9-2/1-4 Commonwealth) traveled to Lycoming College (11-6-1/5-1 Commonwealth) for a Commonwealth Conference match. After surrendering an early own goal, the host Warriors managed to net a pair of unanswered scores in the second half to take a 2-1 win over the red and white Saturday afternoon.
Lycoming's own goal score gave Albright a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of Saturday's match. Offensively the Lions totaled four shots in the contest, while the Warriors tallied 18 on the day. Sophomore goalkeeper #
Billy Howard# totaled 10 saves in the match for Albright. Lycoming goalie David Bald made three saves in the match.
Saturday's match was a very physical one as the two teams battled for control throughout the 90 minutes of play. A total of 22 fouls were called and the officials handed out a combined three yellow cards and one red card.
Albright closed out the match with three corner kick opportunities. The Warriors tallied a total of seven corner kicks, five of which were taken in the second half.
Netting Lycoming's first goal of the day was Bob Ziegler on a header off of a corner kick, which was taken by Chris Lorenzet. The game winner for the Warriors was scored by Jimmy Deasel on an unassisted play.
Men's Soccer returns to action on Wednesday when they host nationally ranked Messiah College at 7 p.m. in Shirk Stadium in a Commonwealth Conference match.
