Davis Earns Academic All-District Honors

READING, Pa. - Junior Matt Davis has been named a CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine College Division All-District Second Team selection, as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon. Davis becomes only the second player in program history to receive this national honor, and the first since 2005.

The honor is the first for Davis, who currently carries a 3.98 GPA with majors in Business Administration and Journalism. A member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll as a sophomore, Davis has been a standout in the classroom since coming to Albright in 2008.

On the field, he has stepped up as one of the Lions top midfielders. This past season, he appeared in all 18 matches. He netted one goal, and helped Albright to their first nine win season in over a decade and the program's best start ever.

To be considered for the CoSIDA Academic All-American program a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Sports Information Directors from the district then vote on the players academic and athletic achievements.
