Roadrunners Race Past Baseball in Spring Trip Finale

Box Score

WINTER HAVEN, Fl. – It was a tough spring trip finale for the Lions (3-7) as they faced off against NJAC opponent Ramapo College (5-3). The Roadrunners used a 10 run fifth inning to hand Albright a 13-1 loss Thursday afternoon.

At the plate, the Lions produced six hits on the day, and initially tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth inning. Unfortunately, Ramapo bats took off in the fifth to jump out to a 11-1 lead. They eventually added an addition in the sixth and the eighth to take the non-conference win.

Shortstop Justin Danser recorded Albright's only RBI on a double to left field, which scored senior Casey Lawrence in the fourth. The Ewing, NJ native closed out the contest 2-for-3 at the plate, while Lawrence picked up his only hit of the day to lead off the inning.

On the hill, Albright threw a variety of pitchers, with Matt Rehrig picking up the start. The righty went four complete innings and allowed five hits, while striking out one hitter.

Tyler Storms, Kevin O'Neill, and Matt Kozlowski also made appearances on the hill for the Lions, with Storms getting handed the loss.

Baseball returns to action on Sunday when they host Arcadia University in a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon at Kelchner Field.
