Baseball Drops Non-Conference Game to PSU Berks

READING, Pa. - Led by senior Tyler Fleischut's two RBI's and four runs scored, the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks (12-11) defeated the Lions (5-12) by the final score of 7-4 Wednesday afternoon at Hintz Athletic Field.

Fleischut who went 3-for-3 on the afternoon at the plate, played a major part in the Nittany Lions eighth consecutive victory. Will Geosits also had a solid afternoon going 3-for-5 at the plate, with two RBI's and one run scored.

For Albright, Justin Danser went 2-for-4 four, and Kevin Butler knocked in pair of runs in a 1-for-3 afternoon for the senior.

On the hill, the red and white threw three pitchers in Wednesday's non-conference match-up. Senior righty Shane Stein got the start against Berks and went five complete innings before handing the ball over to Kevin Thomas.

The junior then went two complete before, Kevin O'Neill came in to close out the final inning. Combined the trio of pitchers surrendered 11 hits and walked just two batters respectively. Stein recorded the only two Albright strikeouts for the bullpen.

Brian Wrobel recorded the victory Wednesday afternoon after his 2 2/3 showing. The sophomore righty surrendered just one run one three hits, and fanned two Lion batters. Ken Mack earned his first save of the season after retiring the final four batters in the ninth.

Baseball returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Angelica Park to face cross town conference rival Alvernia University at 3:30 p.m.
