Box Score
The Albright College women's soccer team grabbed a big away win on Saturday, defeating conference rival Elizabethtown 3-1 on the road.
The Lions were looking to recover from an 0-1 Commonwealth Conference start and did so in a big way, beating one of the league's stronger teams on the road in convincing fashion.
Senior defender
Meg Albright got Albright on the board in the fifth minute from long distance, as she picked up a partial clearance and lofted it over Etown goalkeeper
Jess Manchak from 40 yards out.
Freshman
Erin Hand made it 2-0 late in the first half, on a third-chance rebound. After
Alex Talbot's free kick was blocked and
Kim Harkins put the rebound off the inside of the post, Hand was waiting to finally finish it off from close range.
Sophomore
Mel Sullivan scored Albright's third with a 57th-minute penalty kick, but not before
Taylor Kreider had brough the Blue Jays back into the game with a goal just after halftime.
Senior goalkeeper
Olivia Giuliano made six saves to pick up her sixth victory of the season. The game was called with 25 seconds remaining after an injury on the field, but is official with Albright as the winners.
The Lions improve to 6-2-2, 1-1 and will host Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.
