Box Score
The Albright College men's soccer team out-shot opponents PSU-Berks 33-1 on Tuesday and, despite some trouble finishing, eased to a 2-0 victory at Shirk Stadium.
Sophomore
Tyler Waters notched a goal and an assist including the eventual winner just four minutes in, the second consecutive game he has put Albright ahead in the opening five minutes.
Waters' long throw led to freshman #
Vitali Zaluha#'s goal in the 24th minute, doubling the Lions' lead. Waters also had a great chance in the 13th minute, firing a 30-yard shot just inches wide of the upper right corner of the Berks goal.
After the two early strikes, Albright couldn't pad its lead despite numerous opportunities. Many came from Waters, who continued to harass the Nittany Lions defenders all over the field.
Early in the second half, Waters was saved from close range along the left side of the box. Sophomore
Kory Reddick then got free on the right side of the box and slid a perfect pass to Waters, but Berks'
Jonathan Jablonka made the save.
Zaluha broke free off a long clearance but couldn't quite come around on his shot from the right side. In the final minutes of the game,
Adam Toroniewski headed over with an open net.
Jablonka finished with 12 saves for PSU-Berks. Freshmen #
Taylor Walton# and #
Tim Compton# combined for the shutout in Albright's goal.
The Lions improve to 4-1 and will host Penn College, Thursday at 8 PM.
