Results
The Albright College women's swimming team began its defense of the MAC championship with a conference dual meet victory, beating Lebanon Valley 111-86 on Tuesday.
Albright got off to a great start in the opening 200 medley relay.
Kaitlyn Huizing,
Lauren Cormier,
Madison Hauk and
Gwen Stefan were first (2:10.04), and
Liz Muller,
Kari Keller,
Codi Herr and
Adina Gaughran placed second (2:10.99).
Freshman
Allie Peters led a Lion sweep in the 800 free, with a time of 10:28.29.
Emily Weaver was second (10:47.63) and
Gwen Fesmire placed third (11:20.76).
Stefan and Hauk went 2-3 in the 200 free, with Gaughran and
Amanda Fisher repeating that placing in the 50 free.
Amanda Osterlind won the 200 IM (2:37.41), with Muller placing second (2:38.77).
Melanie Roy (1:05.72) and
Erika McEnany went 2-3 in the 100 fly.
Codi Herr won the 100 free, in 1:00.32, with Cormier placing second (1:04.85). Huizing then won the 100 back, the same event her brother won for Albright on the men's side.
Weaver led another sweep with a win in the 400 free, with a time of 5:15.31. Fesmire was second and
Danielle Hassard placed third.
Albright swam exhibitions in the final two events, but
Emily Summers took the top time in the 100 breast (1:23.33).
The Lions are 1-0, and 1-0 in the MAC, heading into their home opener on Saturday vs. Lycoming.
