The Albright College baseball team was scoreless with Moravian into the fifth inning, but the Lions eventually fell 9-1 on the road, Tuesday in Bethlehem, Pa.
Freshman
Max Dundore was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while classmate
John Medvecky was 1-for-3 and scored a run. Another rookie,
Alex Myers, took the loss but allowed just two runs over five innings of work.
The Lions got their lone run in the top of the seventh, as Dundore singled in Medvecky.
Up 2-0, the Greyhounds had broken things open in the bottom of the sixth.
Austin Rock led off with a homer, before
Matt Hanson,
Chris Lansberry and
Dave Zubia all scored on errors to put the hosts ahead 6-0.
Hanson and
Kevin O'Keefe were each 3-for-5 for the Greyhounds. Moravian took the opportunity of a non-conference game to work its pitching staff and used nine different pitchers for an inning each.
The Lions are 10-18 and travel to Elizabethtown on Friday for the beginning of a crucial three-game set. Albright is 3-6 in Commonwealth play but faces the third and fourth place teams over the next two weekends with series vs. E'town and Lebanon Valley.
