The Albright College football team is volunteering all spring at the local Boys and Girls Club on Mulberry Street in Reading.
As a group, the players are completing 490 service hours this spring. The Boys and Girls Club supervises local children 6-and-under until 6 p.m., while older children stay until 8 p.m.
The Albright players help out in a variety of ways- aiding the children with their homework, playing games with them, supervising gym time, serving food and helping in the computer lab.
Staff members report that many of Albright's student-athletes have taken to mentoring one or two specific children during their time volunteering at the club. The Boys and Girls Club runs organized sports leagues, with Albright players sometimes attending to support.
