Football Places Nine on MAC All-Conference Team

Albright football saw nine student-athletes named to the 2025 Middle Atlantic Conference All-Conference team on Wednesday afternoon.

NEWTOWN, Pa. – After the team's best season since the turn of the new decade, the Lions placed nine student athletes on the 2025 football Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) All-Conference team. The nine All-Conference honorees are the most in a single season for Albright since 2017.

All-MAC First Team Offense:
Arthur Poindexter – Wide Receiver

All-MAC Second Team Offense:
John Boston – Runningback
Cody Carter – Offensive Line

All-MAC Second Team Defense:
Jacquez Parker-Cannon – Defensive Line
Darien Osmun – Linebacker
Samuel Moratori – Defensive Back

All-MAC Honorable Mention:
Chase Roberts – Quaterback
Shayde Shultz – Retuner
Colin Schaeffer – Punter

Arthur Poindexter becomes the first Lion wideout to be named to the conference's first team since 2019. The sophomore standout had a career year recording 74 receptions, 1043 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Each statistic marked the most in the MAC this season. Poindexter was named to the D3football team of the week after his 15 reception, 231 yards and two touchdown performance against Widener. Nationally, Poindexter ranked 13th in receptions, 16th in receiving yards and tied for 16th in receiving touchdowns.

Poindexter will enter the Albright record books on two separate occasions. His per game yardage total of 104.3 ranks fifth all time and his single game performance against Widener ranks fifth all time.

John Boston earned his first All-Conference nod after recording 1021 rushing yards in nine games played. Boston scored eight rushing touchdowns this season, having at least one in each of the last six games of the season. Through the air, Boston hauled in 23 receptions for 163 yards.

The rushing numbers for Boston have him ranked among the conference's leaders. The rushing total was good for the fourth most in the MAC while the touchdown total was sixth most in the MAC. Boston's rushing yard average of 113.4 is good for the fourth best mark in program history and becomes just the fourth player in program history to finish with 110.0 or more yards per game.

Cody Carter has been a staple on the Albright offensive line for much of his career. Last season, Carter was named an All-MAC Honorable Mention and is now a two-time All-Conference recipient. The graduate student played in all 10 games and anchored an offensive line that allowed the offense to set numerous program records. The offense averaged 340.8 yards per game which included 109.8 yards rushing per game.

Jacquez Parker-Cannon set career highs in total tackles, tackles for loss and sacks to be named to the All-MAC Second Team. Parker-Cannon totaled 39 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks from his defensive line position. The defensive lineman's best game came in the season finale against LVC recording seven total tackles and half a sack. Parker-Cannon finished every game with at least two tackles and recorded a tackle for loss in six of 10 games played.

Darien Osmun continues to be a dominant linebacker for the Lions being named to the All-MAC Second Team. In his junior season Osmun recorded 66 total tackles to set a new career high, 7.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. For good measure Osmun recorded an interception against eventual MAC champion Eastern and was credited with two pass breakups throughout the year.

Samuel Moratori has now earned All-MAC honors in back-to-back seasons, being named to the Second Team on both occasions. Moratori plays all over the field for the defense having a nose for the football. The senior earned a spot on the All-MAC team as a defensive back. Moratori was named MAC Player of the Week for his seven tackles and 2.5 tackle for loss performance in the teams 38-14 win over Alvernia. At season's end Moratori finished with 73 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception.

Chase Roberts started all 10 games for the Lions as the quarterback. Roberts helped Boston and Poindexter to career years amid a career year himself. 2,266 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns and 226.6 per game average all marked new career highs for the junior signal caller. Roberts total passing yards and average per game passing yards total was good for second among MAC quarterbacks this season. Roberts added two touchdowns on the ground which came in back-to-back games against Delaware Valley and Widener.

Shayde Shultz became one of, if not the best returner in the conference over the last five games of the season. Shultz becomes the first Albright kickoff returner to be named to an All-Conference team since the 2019 season. The first-year Lion totaled 664 return yards on just 24 attempts for an average of 27.6 yards per return. Shultz saved his best performance of the season for the game's finale.

Against Lebanon Valley, Shultz made five returns for 231 yards and a touchdown. The 231 return yards were the most in a single game this season in the MAC. Shultz took one of the five attempts back for a score on a 99-yard return to enter the record books as the second longest kick return for a touchdown in program history. For his efforts, Shultz was named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week and D3football Returner of the Week.

Colin Schaeffer served as the teams punter and field goal kicker this season and was named All-MAC Honorable Mention as a punter. Schaeffer averaged 37.9 yards per punt consistently flipping the field for the Lions. Of the 35 total punt attempts this season, 15 punts were placed inside the 20-yard line and five of them travelled 50 or more yards. Both inside the 20-yard line total and 50-yard punt plus total both ranked Schaeffer inside the top three in the MAC.

The nine total Lions placed on the All-Conference list are the most since the 2017 season when Albright placed 12 on the list.
