The Albright College women's lacrosse team was even 4-4 after the break but fell 17-4 to host Alvernia on Tuesday after a rough first half.
The Lions trailed 13-0 at halftime and 15-0 after 35 minutes, but finally got on the board with 18:54 on a goal from
Nicole Rohrbach.
Kim Harkins and
Meghan Wilson then scored free position shots to sandwich a strike from Alvernia's
Sarah George to make it 16-3.
Tia Claxton also scored for the Red and White, in the final five minutes.
Kiersten Keehn made seven saves in goal for Albright. Her counterpart,
Jen Czarnecki, stopped 11 shots for the Crusaders.
George had a game-high four goals on five shots for Alvernia.
Allison Bainbridge had a hat trick, with
Alyssa Verrillo scored twice and winning five draw controls.
Albright is 4-12 heading into its 2012 season finale, Saturday at Messiah College.
