Dundore, Hecker Take All-Commonwealth Honors

Albright College freshman Max Dundore and sophomore Collin Hecker have each been named to the baseball All-Commonwealth Conference team, as announced on Wednesday.

Dundore, a centerfielder, was named a first team outfielder in his rookie season. He was second on the team in batting (.312) and had team-highs for hits (48), runs scored (34) and stolen bases (16).

Hecker saw significant time both in the outfield and at shortstop, and grabbed the second team Utility position. Along with Dundore, he was one of only three Lions to start all 40 games in 2012.

Hecker hit .297 with five triples, two HRs and 20 RBIs. He stole successfully on all 11 of his attempts.

The Lions finished their season with a record of 13-27. Alvernia College swept the postseason awards; Chris Ray took home Player of the Year honors, Pitcher of the Year went to Aaron Benusis, Richie Ricciardi earned Rookie of the Year, and Yogi Lutz was awarded Coach of the Year.
