Box Score
Three first half goals propelled the Albright men to a 3-0 victory over the Immaculata Mighty Macs, Wednesday night in Shirk Stadium.
The Lions struck early when junior
Tyler Waters dribbled the ball in from 20 yards, sending a shot past Immaculata keeper
Nick Bruno for a lead the team would not relinquish.
Junior
Shawn Murphy scored his second goal of the season on a one timer from freshman
Codey Short.
Capping off the Albright win was
Tim Compton, who scored off of a
Jack Biggerstaff corner kick, resulting in his first collegiate goal.
The Lions also missed on opportunities to pad the lead. Defender
Fran Schmutz had two shots in the first half and nearly connected on a header, but it was cleared off the goal line.
Lamar Stewart also missed a header for a goal, and freshman
Michael Watkins was unable to net the ball after driving down the field in the first half.
Goalkeeper
David Oram picked up the win, making one save in the shutout, his first start for the Red and White. Oram and the defense played strong throughout, preventing the Mighty Macs from getting back into the game.
The Lions, who are 2-0 to start the season, will play again on Saturday in a matchup against the regionally-ranked Cougars of Misericordia University.
