Second Half Goals Cost Albright in Conference Opener

Box Score

In their first conference match of the season, the Albright men's soccer team was defeated by a score of 3-1 to Elizabethtown College.

Following a back and forth start to the first half, the Lions drew first blood as senior captain Tyler Waters netted his third goal of the season with under one minute left in the half.

The Albright lead was short-lived as Elizabethtown put themselves on the scoreboard just seven minutes into the second half on a Kristopher Davis goal, assisted by Dylan Sisler.

The Blue Jays' second half momentum continued when Shane Votto was able to break the 1-1 deadlock on a goal scored in the 79th minute of the match.

With five minutes left in regulation, Elizabethtown scored a third time on a Sisler goal to secure a 3-1 victory over the visiting Lions.

As a result of tonight's loss, the Albright Lions' record falls to 4-6-1, 0-1, while the Elizabethtown Blue Jays improve to 4-4-2, 1-0 on the season.

The Lions' next chance at victory will come Tuesday as they travel to Arcadia University for a 7 p.m. Commonwealth Conference matchup.
