Men's Soccer Held Off at Arcadia

Box Score

The Albright College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 road decision on Tuesday at Arcadia.

The Lions totaled 22 shots, but all seven attempts on frame were stopped by Knights goalkeeper Ryan Lantzy.

Arcadia took 11 attempts and found the frame just four times; however two of those four shots on goal were converted.

Joe Bertucci had a nice finish to open the scoring in the first half, one-timing Kyle Veltre's cross into the far corner.

Bertucci then assisted Joe Bagnall to double the lead in the 74th minute.

Lantzy came up big for Arcadia, making five second half saves to keep Albright at bay. He stopped freshman Josh Linsmeier early in the second period, and then blocked a Linsmeier header with the score still 1-0.

Tyler Waters and Vitali Zaluha peppered the Arcadia goal late, but both were stopped by Lantzy in addition to putting several shots wide.

The Lions fall to 4-7-1, 0-2 and host Hood on Saturday in a bid for their first league win of the season.
