MAC CHAMPIONSHIP SCENARIOS:
Lebanon Valley has already clinched a share of the MAC title- their first conference championship in 44 years. However, the Dutchmen still need to win to earn the outright championship and a guaranteed bid to the NCAA tournament. LVC could also earn their first-ever NCAA bid with a loss to Albright, if Delaware Valley beats Widener. If Albright and Widener both win, then Lycoming would clinch the automatic bid with a victory, or Widener would go to NCAAs if the Warriors lose under that scenario.
ECAC BOWL PICTURE:
Albright is expected to receive a third consecutive ECAC Bowl game bid with a victory, but unlikely to be selected if they lose this week. The list of ECAC South declared teams who have a chance to finish with a .500 record (a requirement for selection), have not already clinched NCAA bids, and have not withdrawn themselves from consideration according to the ECAC website, is included below:

Six teams will be selected for three South Region bowl games. Albright played on the road in the previous two South-East Bowls, losing 14-0 at SUNY-Cortland in 2011 but beating Franklin & Marshall 38-34 last year.
LAST TIME OUT:
Five different players scored first half touchdowns as the Albright College football team beat Misericordia last Saturday, 42-19 in Dallas, Pa. Unfortunately, the Lions were eliminated from MAC championship contention with LVC's victory over Stevenson.
In a balanced attack, senior
Ty Hughes rushed for 136 yards on 23 carries, while classmate
Uriah Brickhouse had 60 yards on nine carries.
Daniel McNair caught seven balls for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
PREVIOUS MEETING:
Junior
Mark Capetola set school records with four forced fumbles and 6.5 tackles for loss and the Albright defense was excellent throughout as the Lions defeated Lebanon Valley 26-14, to conclude the 2012 regular season.
Capetola finished with 11 tackles (eight solo) and 2.5 sacks as the Lions didn't allow an offensive point until the final minute of the contest. Classmate
Drew Peterson added an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Other defensive standouts included senior
Ryan Ott (12 tackles, 2.0 for loss), and junior
Matthew Hnatiuk- who returned an interception 51 yards late in the contest. Albright held LVC to 236 yards of total offense and stopped two of three fourth down tries.
SERIES:
This rivalry game dates all the way back to 1900, with Albright holding a 57-32-3 advantage heading into the 93rd meeting between the teams. Lebanon Valley students traditionally get the day before Thanksgiving off from class if the football team defeats Albright that year.
HEAD COACHES:
John Marzka, in his seventh season at Albright, holds a career mark of 51-25.
Jim Monos has been in charge at LVC for 21 years, and just earned both his 100th career victory and first MAC title over the last two weeks.
ALBRIGHT OFFENSE:
Senior running back
Ty Hughes totaled 136 yards on 23 carries last weekend vs. Misericordia, giving him 822 yards for the season and 1797 for his career. A 1,000-yard season and the 2,000-yard career mark could both be achievable, especially if the Lions are selected for an ECAC berth next week.
ALBRIGHT DEFENSE:
Matt Pattison's four sacks against Widener two weeks ago tied the school single-game record, and earned him national weekly honors from D3football.com and BSN. The Lions totaled 10 sacks in that game, and still have a fearsome pass rush despite the loss of captain defensive end
Mark Capetola- including Pattison (13.0 TFLs, 7.0 sacks),
Don Gould (9.5 TFLs, 8.5 sacks) and
Tyler Hamlet (9.0 TFLs, 6.5 sacks).
ALBRIGHT SPECIAL TEAMS:
Senior
TJ Luddy has earned Player of the Week honors for his punting after three of the last four weeks. He kicked twice for an average of 54.0 yards against Misericordia, including a 67-yard boot for the second consecutive week.
LVC OFFENSE:
The Dutchmen are loaded at running back, with
Austin Hartman (862 yards, 12 TDs) now splitting carries with freshman
Brendan Irving (628 yards, 7 TDs). Fullback
Evan Fink rushed for 14 touchdowns last season, but has seen just 25 carries in 2013. Junior quarterback
Brian Murphy has completed 92-of-169 passes for 1394 yards and 13 TDs.
LVC DEFENSE:
The LVC defense has allowed just 16.8 points per game, while totaling 32 sacks. Junior
Frank Gaffney has 13 sacks and 19 tackles for loss (for a total of 109 yards), and senior
Zach Halpin has added 8.5 sacks on the year, setting up what should be a matchup of two outstanding defensive units.
LVC SPECIAL TEAMS:
Senior
Sean Fakete became LVC's all-time field goal leader with a 43-yarder last week. The week before, he was MAC and ECAC Special Teams Player of the Week after nailing an overtime winner against Delaware Valley.
NATIONAL WEEKLY HONORS:
For the second year in a row, Albright has earned frequent mentions on several websites' national weekly honor rolls. Kicker
Daniel Sobolewski and safety
Drew Peterson were both named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after a season-opening win vs. Kean; Sobolewski, defensive tackle
Matt Pattison and punter
TJ Luddy were all included after a victory over Widener.
The aforementioned trio were all named BSN Athletes of the Week following the Widener win, as was Sobolewski after the Kean game.
USA College Football named Sobolewski its National Special Teams Player of the Week after that contest, and has listed the following players as Honorable Mention: Peterson (Defense, vs. Kean),
Chris Stephens (Special Teams, vs. King's),
Vinny Williams (Rookie, vs. Lycoming), Pattison (Defense, vs. Widener) and Sobolewski (Special Teams vs. Widener). Luddy has made the honorable mention list three of the last four weeks- as a punter vs. Wilkes and Widener, and as a quarterback last week vs. Misericordia.
PRESEASON ALL-AMERICANS:
The Lions were well-represented on 2013 Preseason All-American teams, with three players receiving a total of six selections. Senior safety
Drew Peterson was a first team USA College Football, second team D3 Senior Classic and third team BSN Preseason All-American. Fifth-year senior
Matt Pattison earned second team USA College Football and honorable mention D3 Senior Classic honors, and senior tight end
Eric Wade was a fourth team USA College Football selection.
