Three Elizabethtown runs in the seventh were the difference as the Albright College baseball team dropped a 6-3 decision, Thursday at Kelchner Field.
Sophomore
Dylan Boll was 1-for-3 from the plate, with an RBI and a run scored.
Tyler Meckley and
Gabe Santone also recorded RBIs for the Lions.
Senior
Kevin O'Neill took the ball, striking out six in 6.2 innings of work but taking the loss. Freshman
Doug Franks went the final shutout 2.1 innings, striking out two and scattering a pair of hits.
With the game tied 3-3, the Blue Jays scored three times in the top of the seventh.
Kyle Gable led things off with a bunt single, and scored on
Dillon Tagle's single.
Sean Jones added an RBI double, and
Kevin Berkheiser also had an RBI hit before the damage was done.
Albright had rallied from 3-1 down in the previous stanza.
Nate Peiffer singled and scored on Boll's double, with Boll coming home on a single from Santone.
Albright had led 1-0 in the bottom of the first, as Meckley knocked in
Max Dundore.
Tyler Weary was 3-for-5 at the plate for Elizabethtown, while Berkheiser went 3-for-5 and scored twice.
Albright is 8-6 overall, but falls to 1-3 in Commonwealth play. The Lions need results tomorrow, as they travel to Elizabethtown for a doubleheader.
