Lions Lose Series Opener to Widener

Box Score

Widener rallied twice with three-run innings, as the Albright College baseball team dropped a 7-4 decision in Chester, Pa. on Saturday.

The entire series was pushed back a day, so Albright (11-13, 3-9) will now host the Pride in a doubleheader at noon tomorrow on Kelchner Field.

Senior Tyler Meckley and junior Collin Hecker were each 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Lions.

Senior Kevin O'Neill went six innings on the mound and ultimately took the loss, despite striking out four.

The Lions had led 2-0 in their first at-bats, as Meckley and Peiffer both scored on an error with Dylan Boll at the plate.

Widener rallied from 2-1 down and a 4-4 tie, scoring a trio of runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

The Lions had tacked on two runs in the sixth, as Peiffer scored on a passed ball and Evan High brought in Meckley.
