Senior
Tyler Meckley opened the scoring by launching a solo homer over the left field wall.
Collin Hecker nearly followed that with an inside-the-park four-bagger, but the ball rolled out-of-bounds for a ground rule double.
Boll's sacrifice scored Hecker for a 2-0 lead. Medvecky doubled in the top of the second, but the Lions would strand runners on second and third with one out.
Myers made a nice stab deep at short to get the third out in the top of the third, and then bettered that with an extremely tough play to get the first out in the fourth.
In the meantime, Boll had doubled in Meckley and Hecker, and scored on Myers' single, to push the Lion lead to 5-0.
Valley Forge finally got on the board with two runs in the fifth, but the Lions responded with three in the bottom half to take an 8-2 lead.
