The Albright College women's lacrosse team concluded its Commonwealth Conference schedule on Tuesday, losing 15-4 to #18 Messiah in Shirk Stadium.
Sophomore
Sarah Nale and freshman
Amanda Smith each caused three turnovers, with Smith adding three goals and five draw controls.
Meghan Wilson scored once and won three draws. Freshman goalie
Emily Hutson recorded 10 saves.
Cecilia Kjellman opened the scoring for Messiah, and then was stoned by Hutson with a chance to make it 2-0.
Hutson later made a nice kick save on
Carly Bajus on a Messiah power play, but the Falcons scored on a free position shot one second after the penalty kill to take a 5-0 lead.
Lizzy Keeney had a goal and then an assist just 15 seconds apart to push Messiah's advantage to 8-0, before Wilson fired one in from the right side off
Nicole Klusewitz's assist.
Smith converted a free position shot over the Messiah goaltender to make it 8-2, and Hutson made another nice save late in the half on Keeney.
Hutson stayed hot in the second half, stopping
Claire Stikeleather after
Tori Meyer was saved down low.
With 11 minutes to play,
Gabrielle DiLalla caused a turnover and
Erin Farrell broke free, but shot high.
Rebecca Sartorio forced a great save late in the game, and Farrell ripped one of the crossbar in the final 30 seconds.
Albright is 9-6, 3-5 and will travel to Misericordia on Thursday.
