Women's Tennis Season Ends at Messiah

The Albright College women's tennis team was eliminated from playoff contention in their regular season finale on Saturday, losing 7-2 at Messiah College.

Junior Victoria Foanio completed her singles sweep of the Commonwealth's number-one players, taking a 6-1, 6-2 decision.

Messiah would win the other five singles points in straight sets however. Sophomore Alyssa Sell (6-4, 6-0) came the closest to taking a set at second singles.

Foanio teamed with Christina Peacock for an 8-6 decision in the top doubles spot.

All the doubles matches were extremely close. Sell and Melissa Carberry went to a tie-breaker at second pairs, ultimately losing 9-8 (7-2). Freshmen Elizabeth Bengtsson and Erin Sullivan lost 9-7 in the third spot.

Albright finishes its season at 10-6 overall, and 2-4 in the Commonwealth Conference.
