NEWTOWN, Pa. – Alex Pancu and Allison Horick were named to the Academic All-MAC squad as announced by the conference on Friday afternoon. Pancu has made the squad in all four years as a member of the Lions while Horick earned a spot on the squad in her first year at Albright.

The winter and spring Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and in athletic competition during the 2025 spring semester. The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Pancu is one of the best players in school history and added another accolade to her resume this afternoon. With today's honor Pancu solidified her standing off the court being named to the Academic All-MAC squad in four consecutive seasons.

On the court Pancu was even better. Pancu is a four-time MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year, is tied for the most #1 singles wins in school history with 61, two-time MAC Commonwealth champion and two-time NCAA Tournament participant.

Horick was perfect in her singles matches in her first-year as an Albright Lion. Horick went a perfect 17-0 in singles play while going 3-0 in postseason matches. In the 2025 women's tennis NCAA tournament, Horick became the first player in school history to win an NCAA Tournament match alongside teammate Elicia Aponte.

Both Pancu and Horick earned spots on the conferences' first team leading the team to back-to-back MAC Commonwealth championships.
