After a valiant effort Saturday night against Scranton, the Albright men's soccer team fell to Cabrini College by a score of 3-1 at Shirk Stadium.
Five minutes into the match,
Brett Lockbaum made his way through the Albright defense and shot a strike past a charging
David Oram.
Cabrini nearly added another goal midway through the first half, but sophomore
Brad Wood hustled back and denied a Cabrini crossing pass inside the Albright six.
With ten minutes left in the half,
Logan Howell rebounded a shot off the post and netted a wide open goal to put Cabrini up 2-0.
Cabrini's offensive momentum carried into the second half, as the Cavaliers put themselves on the board once more when
A.J. Bishop buried a goal off of a beautiful assisted through ball.
The Lions' lone offensive bright spot came late in the game, when
Lamar Stewart assisted his fellow senior
Tyler Waters- who drilled his second goal of the year.
Despite improved second half play, a three =goal Cabrini lead proved to be sufficient enough to defeat the Lions 3-1. With tonight's loss, the Lions' record falls to 4-3-1 on the season, while the Cabrini Cavaliers improve to 2-5-2.
Albright's next chance at victory will come this Saturday when the Lions host Eastern University at 2 p.m.
