COMPLETE RESULTS

READING, Pa. -- The Albright 800-yard freestyle relay squad brought the crowd to its feet by setting a new Natatorium record in the final event of the evening in Albright's women's swimming 149-103 Middle Atlantic Conference victory over visiting Arcadia Thursday night.

The foursome of Gwen Stefan, Sam Hand, Liz Muller, and Amanda Osterlind raced to a time of 8:19.41 besting the old record of 8:23.36 that was set on January 7, 2012 by the quartet of Stefan, Codi Herr, Katy Oeste and Aimee Snyder.

Stefan finished the meet with four wins to help the Lions improve to 4-0 in the MAC and 4-1 overall. Whitney Boeckel won the100 and 200-backstroke for the Knights who are 2-2 in the MAC.

Stefan and Muller were part of the team that opened the meet with a victory in the 400 medley relay. They were joined by Lauren Cormier and Julie McNeil as the group posted a winning time of 4:19.51. Kaitlyn Huizing, Lily Ritter, Julia Barry and Adina Gaughran finished in third place in 4:30.19.

Hand captured the 1000 freestyle in 11:38.25, Allie Peters was second in 11:49.73 and Alex Trego completed the sweep in 13:01.14

Osterlind and Muller took the top two places in the 200 freestyle in 2:01.95 and 2:09.08 respectively, Osterlind led the way in the 400 IM in 4:42.49, followed by Muller in 5:06.60 and Madeline Hudson was third in 5:28.17.

McNeil was the winner in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:43.72 with Ritter in third in 2:47.7, and McNeil was the runner up in 100 backstroke in 1:04.30 with Huizing placing third in 1:06.51.

Cormier captured the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.91, while Ritter finished in second in 1:18.09. Danielle Hassard was victorious in the 200 butterfly in 2:31.82 and Melanie Roy took third in 2:37.30

Stefan raced to the crown in the 50 freestyle in 26.04 with Gaughran in third in 27.32. Stefan also was the winner of the 100 freestyle in 56.64, while Cormier was second in 59.46.

Huizing won the 500 freestyle in 5:42.94 and Hand was the runner up in 5:49.36 and Hassard placed third in 5:50.74. Huizing was second in the 200 backstroke in 2:21.55 and Hudson was third in 2:24.03.

Roy placed second in the 100 butterfly in 1:07.66 followed closely by Julia Barry in third in 1:07.69

Albright returns to action at Messiah on Saturday (Nov. 22).
