READING, Pa. -- The Albright women's soccer team wrapped up regular season play last Wednesday not knowing if it was the last game of the season or if they would secure a berth in the Commonwealth Conference Tournament. But when Lycoming knocked off Widener on Saturday it clinched a berth in the tournament for the Lions extending Albright's season.
Albright, which wrapped up regular season play with a 7-10-1 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the Commonwealth, earned the No. 5 seed and will visit Aracdia on Monday (Nov. 3) at 7 p.m. in a rematch of the regular season finale.
Arcadia, the No. 4 seed, defeated Albright 1-0 on Oct. 29 at Shirk Stadium. Kayla Haberbosch scored the only goal of the game in the second half to lift the Knights to the win.
Sophomore
Emily Sousa has been the Lions top offensive player this season as she has a team-leading eight goals and 19 points.
Natalie Wilson,
Rebecca Sartorio and
Karis Pennington have each scored three goals for Albright on the year.
Jaymee Stepp has played 15 games in goal for the Lions and has posted a 6-7-1 overall record and a 1.55 goals against average.
The winner of the Albright-Aracdia match will travel to Owings Mills, Md., on Wednesday (Nov. 5) to meet top-seeded Stevenson at 7 p.m. Messiah earned the No. 2 seed and will host Lebanon Valley on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday (Nov. 8) at the site of the highest remaining seed to determine the Commonwealth Conference champion.
