Football Senior Day on Saturday at Shirk Stadium

Albright College football will honor and recognize the contributions of its 12 seniors playing there last regular season home games at Shirk Stadium, in a pregame ceremony, before Saturday's contest with Misericordia.

During the past four years these seniors have been a part of the program that has compiled a 26-15 record, 20-14 in the MAC, three straight trips to the postseason and back-to-back victories in ECAC Bowl Games.

The list includes the four captains of the 2014 squad; Mark Capetola, Joe Magosin, Jake O'Brien and Chris Stephens.

Capetola has been a stalwart on the defensive line since he was inserted into the starting line-up in 2012. The Egg Harbor, N.J. native garnered Second Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference honors while leading the Lions in tackles for loss with 16.5 and sacks with six. He was recognized nationally as a member of the D3football.com Team of the Week, following a school-record four forced fumbles and 6.5 tackles for loss against Lebanon Valley.

Capetola was a dominating force in 2013, before he lost his season to an injury, but has come back strong in 2014 with a team-leading six sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss.

A MAC all-academic member in 2013, he has appeared in 28 games and recorded 12 sacks while making 96 tackles, 37.5 tackles for loss, forced six fumbles and recovered three fumbles in his Albright career.

Nick Costantino walked onto the football program as a freshman from Middlesex High School in Middlesex, N.J. and has been a member of the varsity squad for four seasons.

Adam Dayke has appeared in 11 games in his career at Albright, including his first career start this season versus Widener at strong safety.

Dayke, who has registered five career tackles and ran the ball once as a freshman, was a member of the 2012 MAC fall Academic Honor Roll comprised of student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade-point average of 3.20 (4.00 scale) or higher.

Trent Koch walked on as a freshman and saw action in only one game in his first three seasons at Albright, but the Exeter High School graduate worked his way into the starting line-up and has been the starter on the offensive line for all eight games this season at left guard.

Magosin has been a regular in the Lions defensive backfield after making the switch from wide receiver following his freshman season. The Egg Harbor, N.J. native opened the season with three interceptions at Kean and received three different player of the week citations.

In his career, Magosin has 101 tackles, five interceptions, forced four fumbles, a blocked a kick and a fumble recovery.

Ethan Martin has appeared in 27 games in his career at Albright and has recorded 25 total tackles. He has 10 tackles this season, has forced a fumble and also blocked a kick.

The Lampeter Strasburg graduate has twice been a member of the MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Quashon Mayes has appeared in 17 games on the defensive line at Albright, and has started all eight games in 2014. He registered a career- high six tackles at Widener, and has recorded a career-best 20 tackles in 2014.

The Brimm Medical Arts graduate from Camden, N.J. has made 31 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and was credited with his first career pass breakup against Stevenson.

Darian Meador is a two-sport athlete at Albright, the Westminster, Md., native also plays for the men's lacrosse squad.

Meador has participated in 21 games with 18 tackles, 1.5 tackles for for a loss and one pass breakup and he started at cornerback in the ECAC Southwest Bowl victory over Juniata last season.

Kent Mertens came to Albright from Miami, Fla., and has started every game at right guard in 2014. A key member of the offensive line that has helped to produce at least 30 points in three consecutive victories.

Mertens has appeared in 21 games at Albright and caught three passes from the tight end position in 2013, before moving over to right guard for the 2014 campaign.

O'Brien made a difficult decision during his sophomore year to switch from defensive end to offensive tackle, through hard work and help from his coaches, the Monroe Township, N.J. native has been a mainstay on the offensive line making 19 consecutive starts heading into Saturday's final home game.

O'Brien has appeared in 24 games at Albright recorded one tackle as a freshman and blocked two kicks in 2013.

After losing his 2013 season to injury, Hunter Riggs has returned to the team this season and been a mainstay in the Lion defensive backfield. He is currently third on the team with 51 tackles and has 66 tackles in his career.

Riggs recorded his first career sack during the homecoming game against Stevenson, and has 3.0 tackles for loss and three pass breakups on the season.

Stephens was named to the 2014 USA College Football Preseason All-American list as a third team selection at cornerback. The Cheltenham High School graduate has responded with 10 pass breakups an interception and a blocked kick.

Stephens was a second team All-MAC selection in 2013 and named a USA College Football Honorable Mention Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a punt and returning it for a touchdown vs. King's.

In his 34 appearances, Stephens has totaled 100 tackles (86 unassisted), five interceptions, 32 pass breakups, 6.5 tackles for loss and four blocked kicks.

The 12 seniors will take to the Shirk Stadium turf for the final time on Saturday in a Middle Atlantic Conference matchup with Misericordia scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
