Box ScoreThe Albright women's tennis team traveled to Maryland today to take on Hood College for their last regular season game of the spring and won 7-2.
The Albright Lions started the match off with a winning pace, gaining the 2-1 lead after doubles, with
Victoria Foanio and
Alyssa Sell winning 8-2 at first doubles and
Brooke Ronney and
Erin Sullivan defeating Hood at third doubles, 8-0.
The Albright team played singles well from the top of the lineup to the end, starting with Foanio at first singles (dominating her Hood opponent 6-1, 6-1) to
Erin Sullivan at sixth singles (winning 6-2, 6-1).
Ronney also played a quick winning match at second singles, with a final score of 6-2, 6-1.
At third singles, Sell crushed her Hood opponent, giving her a solid 11-2 record at the close of the regular spring season.
Albright's
Melissa Carberry was also victorious at fifth singles winning 6-1, 6-1 and giving Albright the concluding win at 7-2.
The Albright women hold a 13-5 record as they advance to the first round of Commonwealth playoffs this upcoming Tuesday.
