READING, Pa.—Julia Wadding posted two first-place finishes, but the Albright women's swimming team lost to Arcadia 162-98 on Saturday in the Albright Natatorium.
Wadding earned first-place finishes in the 100 backstroke finishing the race with a time of 1:02.11. The freshman also topped the competition in the 200 backstroke, where she posted a finishing time of 2:15.36.
The Lions also earned first-place finishes from
Alexis Willis and
Ashlyn Chermol in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, respectively. Willis finished her race with a time of 25.17, while Chermol blew her competition out of the water finishing her race in 1:00.49—three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Willis and Chermol both posted second-place finishes for Albright. Willis earned her second-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.93, and Chermol finished a stroke behind Arcadia's Megan Obarowski in the 200 butterfly. The freshman posted a time of 2:18.78.
The Lions 400 freestyle relay earned top honors as Wadding, Willis, Chermol, and
Julie McNeil posting a time of 3:47.65.
Wadding, Willis, and McNeil also swam legs on the 200 medley relay who finished second overall. Along with
Dayne Martin, the relay team posted a time of 1:58.39 for a second-place finish.
Albright returns to the pool next Saturday when the Lions host Cabrini College in a dual-meet at 1 p.m.
