Frederick, Md.- Devon Mela scored five goals to help women's lacrosse route Hood, 17-7, Thursday night.
Albright came out firing, going on an 18-minute run that saw them score eight straight goals to go up 8-0 on the road.
Mela scored three of her goals during the run, while
Patricia Horgan,
Kelly Baumann,
Erin Coleman,
Jacqui Montague and
Mariah Cullen also put the ball in the back of the net on the run.
Hood put an end to the run when they scored twice in two minutes. Horgan added another goal for Albright and Hood scored one more time to end the first half.
The Lions took a 9-3 lead into halftime.
Mela and Baumann each scored in the first two minutes to open the second half.
The Blazers answered with two goals of their own before
Sophie Bass scored twice in four minutes for Albright to go up 13-5.
Albright gave up a goal before putting together a string of four goals by Mela, Cullen, Bass and
Danielle Carey. Hood put up the final goal of the game to make the final, 17-7.
Bass finished the game with three goals. Baumann, Horgan and Cullen each scored two goals while Coleman, Montague and Carey each had a goal apiece.
Baumann and Bass each dished out three assists while Mela had two assists. Coleman, Montague, Carey and Horgan each had one assist apiece.
The Lions return home on Wednesday, when they host Stevenson at Shirk Stadium. The game is schedule for 7 p.m.
