FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Albright baseball team finished its spring break trip in Florida with a 5-3 victory over Earlham on Wednesday morning. With the win, the Lions finished the southern swing with a 4-2 record. Albright currently sits at 5-2 overall. The Lions handed Earlham its first loss of the season after it started the year 12-0 and were receiving votes in the NCBWA/D3baseball.com Top 25 poll.
Kyle Smith earned the victory for the Lions, the first of the freshman's career.
Logan Adams earned his second save in as many chances.
On the offensive side,
Noah Beebe had a pair of hits including a double.
Logan Pennypacker tripled, and
Evan Cardinal had an RBI single.
Albright returns to Pennsylvania to face Alvernia in the team's MAC Commonwealth opening series this weekend. Albright travels to Alvernia for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon. The teams conclude the series on Sunday at Kelchner Field at 1 p.m.
