FOOTBALL FALLS AT WILKES
The Albright Lions fell on the road two weeks ago against Wilkes by a final score of 27-0. The Colonels scored first via a 10 yard run by dynamic Wilkes ball carrier Elijah Jules. Wilkes carried a 14-0 lead into halftime to give them all they needed to take the game from the Lions. Albright quarterback  Jahkem Allen made his collegiate debut and completed four passes while rushing for 12 yards. Defensively, Sam Viera led the way with 11 tackles. Samuel Moratori had eight, while Daniel Vital and Omar Sesay each had seven tackles.

SOLO TACKLERS
Daniel Vital and Sam Viera have both continued to shine on the defensive side of the ball. The duo are among the top ranks in all of division three in total solo tackles. Viera ranks second in the country with 45 solo tackles averaging nine per game. Vital sits at number eight with 35 solo tackles averaging seven per game. The Linebackers play tough and fast and embody what it means to play the position.

RUSHING ATTACK
A number of Albright players have carried the ball this year for the Lions but each one has been effective when they do. The Lions average over 110 yards per game on the ground. Albright has rushed for over 160 yards twice so far this season against Lycoming and Western Connecticut State. Isaiah Shockley is the team's leading rusher through five games and has totaled 209 yards in the process.

FOURTH QUARTER DEFENSE
The Albright defense has not allowed a touchdown in the fourth quarter since the first game of the season. Opposing teams scored via the field goal and special teams in the fourth but have not scored a touchdown since the first game. In fact, the Albright defense has pitched two fourth quarter shutouts and has not allowed the opposition to put up more than seven points on the scoreboard through the midway point of the season. Coming off a bye, the defense should be well rested, looking to torment the Kings offense.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY
On October 15, 2016, Albright defeated FDU-Florham 59-7 in a dominant game from start to finish. The party started early for the Lions, scoring just three minutes into play. Alec Vignola hit Vinny Williams for a 9-yard touchdown to make it 7-0. Williams finished with four catches for 40 yards along with the score. On the ensuing possession, the Albright defense doubled the lead. Donte Thomas intercepted a deflected pass and raced 59 yards untouched down the sideline to make it 14-0. The Lions held the Devils to 259 yards of offense, 82 yards less than FDU-Florham's average output. The Lions put up 459 yards of offense, and it kept rolling in the second quarter. Brian Wickkiser caught a 3-yard touchdown from Vignola to make it 21-0. Malik Jackson caught two touchdowns in the second quarter. Vignola hit him from three yards out to make it 28-0, and Mike Knight found Jackson from 10 yards out to make it 35-0 Lions with 56 seconds left in the first half. ABOUT KINGS
Today's game marks the annual pretzel bowl between Kings College and Albright College. The Monarchs come into today's contest sporting a 4-1 record and are 3-1 in MAC play. Kings is in the midst of a three-game win streak, winning twice on the road and once at home. For a team that was tabbed as the eight best in the MAC Preseason Coaches Poll the team has exceeded everyone's expectation thus far. Kings plays a good brand of football on both sides of the ball. The offense produces 219 yards (2nd in the MAC) per game and only allows 189 yards (5th in the MAC) per game on defense. Furthermore, the offensive and defensive units both rank highly in the MAC in efficiency. The Monarchs are looking to pass the five-win threshold for the first time since 2013. From 2016-2019 the football team went 5-5 trying to eclipse the .500 mark. Jeff Knarr is in his 13th season (12th season) with the Monarchs, as he is only the second coach of King's College football since 1991. Knarr took over for Rich Mannello, who was the head coach since football was reinstated at King's in 1993. Today is the 116th game that Knarr has been the head coach of the Monarchs.
