Albright Hires Erich Skelly as New Men’s Lacrosse Coach

READING, PA - Albright College Co-Athletic Directors Rick Ferry and Janice Luck announced on Thursday the hiring of Erich Skelly as the new head men's lacrosse coach of the Lions. Skelly brings over 10 years worth of experience of college lacrosse coaching experience.

Skelly comes to Albright after having been an Assistant Coach at Sacred Heart University for the previous six years. "Once we started this search, Erich quickly rose to the top of our list," said Ferry. " He brings a lot of experience with him, and we are very excited to have him join the school and lead our men's lacrosse team." Prior to Sacred Heart, Skelly served as an assistant coach at Binghamton University, and the College of Brockport.

"I want to thank Rick Ferry, Janice Luck, and everyone involved with the hiring committee for this opportunity.  I am beyond excited to lead the Albright Men's Lacrosse program and develop this group of young men both on and off the field.  I need to take a moment to thank my family, friends and mentors who all helped me get to where I am today.  Without their love and support I would have never made it this far in my coaching career.  It has been a dream of mine to be a collegiate head men's lacrosse coach and now that dream has become a reality" said Skelly.

While at Sacred Heart, Skelly served as the Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. During his time there, he coached multiple players who went on to play lacrosse professionally. Additionally, twice during his tenure the team won nine games, the most the school has won in the past 20 years.

Originally from Grand Island, NY, Skelly played lacrosse at Brockport, being named to the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic List and the SUNYAC All-Academic team three times each.
