Men’s soccer battles to a 1-1 draw

Reading PA – The Albright Lions played to a 1-1 draw against Rosemont College. This marks the second draw of the season for the Lions to bring their overall record to 1-3-2.

It was a back-and-forth game throughout as both teams displayed great skill across all areas of the field. It was a first half that featured 15 combined shots with six on goal forcing both netminders into early action.

Rosemont found themselves on the scoreboard first as Malher Santiago-Possu scored to give the visitors a 1-0 halftime lead.

The game remained scoreless until the 61st minute when Albright was awarded a corner kick.

Martin Ramsay took the corner and played a gorgeous ball that found the head of streaking attacker Noah Raimonde. Raimonde gave the goalie no chance as he powered it into the back of the net to tie the game at one.

Things were testy late as both teams had their fair chances to put their teams ahead and take home the victory. However, it was not to be as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Ramsay finished with a team high three total shots and putting two on frame.

Cooper Walters made save after save preserving the draw for the Lions. In all, Walters was credited with six saves in the match.

Men's soccer will be back on the pitch Thursday, September 22 when they travel to Penn State Brandywine. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m.
