ALLENTOWN, PA. - The Albright men's golf team placed first this afternoon at the Muhlenberg Invitational recording a team score of 313. The men's golf team fired five rounds of tremendous golf to stake claim as the top team at the Invitational. Three of the five Lions golfers in action today finished inside the top 10 and all five golfers finished inside the top 20.
The Albright men's golf team has been playing tremendous golf all season long and today was no different.
Charles Bailey,
Sam Elsen,
Jonatan Liljeblad,
Oliver Liljeblad and
Chris DiRita combined to shoot a 313 taking first, finishing one stroke better than Jefferson University.
The Invitational today was played at the Lehigh Country Club with the course playing 6415 yards and par of 70.
Charles Bailey led the way for the Lions putting together a round of 76. The round of 76 was good for T4 individually, in one of the three Albright rounds in the 70's today. Bailey found birdies on holes 3 and 15 to secure another top five finish this fall season.
Sam Elsen and
Jonatan Liljeblad turned in the second and third team leading rounds on the day with a 77 and 79, respectively. Elsen's round of 77 was good for T6 and Liljeblad's round of 79 placed him in a tie for 9th.
Oliver Liljeblad and
Chris DiRita sealed the victory for the Lions to beat the nine team field and take home first place. Liljeblad and DiRita both fired rounds of 81, making every stroke count with winning the Invitational by one stroke.
