Both Johnson and Lorah have earned All-MAC Commonwealth selections in back to back seasons.
Chelsea Johnson has now been named to the All-MAC Commonwealth field hockey First Team in back to back seasons. Johnson led the team in goals this season scoring 13 in 17 games. The 13 goals scored placed Johnson in second in all of the MAC Commonwealth for goals scored this season.
On October 4 of this year, Johnson tied a school record for goals in a game with four. In Albright's 6-0 win over Cedar Crest, Johnson scored a first half hattrick and scored once more in the second half to cement herself in the Albright record books.
Johnson has put together back to back double-digit goal seasons finishing with 10 in 2022 and 13 in 2023. Johnson has scored 31 total goals in her Albright career. Heading into her senior season in 2024, Johnson will need 12 goals to tie the Albright program record for goals in a career and 13 to set a new all-time mark.
Olivia Lorah put together a tremendous season anchoring the Albright defense. Lorah was named an All-MAC Commonwealth Honorable Mention last season and now in 2023 is named to the All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team. Lorah started in 16 of 17 games this season and led the Albright defense to six shutouts this season. Of the six shutouts, three of which came in MAC Commonwealth play.
From Lorah's defensive position, the All-MAC performer recorded three goals and five assists. For good measure, Lorah was credited with 37 shots on goal this season. Lorah scored two goals against nationally ranked opponents with her third goal coming in Albright's 3-0 shutout win over Delaware Valley. In the last game of the season, Lorah finished with three assists in Albright's 4-0 shutout win over Eastern.
Johnson and Lorah are the first Albright field hockey student-athletes to be named to back to back MAC Commonwealth teams since Bailey Lehman did so in 2018 and 2019. For Johnson it is the first time since 1998-99 that an Albright player (Rachel Connolly) has earned All-MAC Commonwealth First Team selections in back to back seasons.
